Veteran communist leader and former Kerala chief minister, VS Achuthanandan, passed away at 102 on Monday. He was admitted to a private hospital at Thiruvanthapuram on June 23 after a heart attack.
He was out of active politics for almost five years after he suffered a stroke.
His mortal remains will be taken to AKG Centre, where the public will be able to pay homage to the deceased leader. Later in the night, he will be taken to his residence in Thiruvanthapuram.
His mortal remains will be kept for public homage tomorrow at Secretariat Durbar Hall. After this, his mortal remains will be taken to his hometown in Alappuzha. It will be taken as a procession from Thiruvanthapuram to Alappuzha.
The cremation will be in Alappuzha the day after tomorrow.
