The Indian Navy participated in the fifth edition of Beypore International Water Fest 2025 organised by Govt of Kerala from 26 to 28 Dec 25. INS Kalpeni of Southern Naval Command was deployed to Beypore as part of the event.

The ship was open to visitors on all the three days and received an overwhelming response of more than 6500 visitors including senior citizens, NCC cadets, school children and local populace. They were provided a guided tour of ship along with an overview of ship’s role and capabilities.

Naval exhibition stalls set up on the jetty showcased Naval equipment, small arms, NBCD and medical gears as part of the outreach activities. Motivational videos highlighting Naval capabilities, as well as information on career opportunities in the Indian Navy, were also displayed. Adding to the festivities, the Naval Band from the Indian Naval Academy enthralled the audience with martial tunes and patriotic compositions on the opening day.

Amongst various dignitaries, Mohammed Riyas, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala, Mr. O. Sadasivan, Mayor Calicut Municipal Corporation and Rajpal Meena, Inspector General of Police, North Zone Kerala, visited the ship.The Indian Navy’s participation significantly enhanced public outreach, community engagement, and maritime awareness, highlighting the Navy’s commitment to fostering strong bonds with the community.
