Lakshadweep, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Administrator Praful Patel visited Sabarimala. He reached Nilakkal by helicopter from Kochi on the morning of January 17 and proceeded to the Pampa Ganapathi Temple, where he donned the sacred garland and performed the customary rituals.
Along with the Administrator, Lakshadweep Collector Dr. Girishankar, Daman Collector Saurabh Mishra, and his friend Harshad Kumar Patel were also present. They trekked up the hill on foot. At Sannidhanam, he was received under the leadership of Sabarimala ADM Arun S. Nair.
After climbing the sacred eighteen steps, he offered prayers to Lord Ayyappa and the subordinate deities and also visited Malikappuram. He rested at the Sannidhanam guest house and descended the hill after lunch. This was Praful Patel’s first visit to Sabarimala. He had visited the Guruvayur Temple about one and a half years ago.
