Thiruvananthapuram: Amitabh Singh, an officer of the 1995 batch of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), assumed charge as the Chief Postmaster General, Kerala Circle, on July 13, 2026.

Prior to his appointment in Kerala, Singh served as the Chief Postmaster General of the Maharashtra Circle. During his distinguished career in the Department of Posts, he has held several key positions, including Director of Postal Services, Nagpur; Joint Director at the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy, Ghaziabad; Faculty Member at the Asian Pacific Postal College, Bangkok; Deputy Director General (Training & Welfare) at the Postal Directorate, New Delhi; and Postmaster General (Mails & Business Development), Maharashtra Circle.

Singh has made significant contributions to the implementation of technology-driven initiatives in the Department of Posts, including the VSAT Money Order System and the computerisation of Postal Life Insurance.

With his extensive administrative experience and proven leadership in technology-led initiatives, Singh is expected to further strengthen the ongoing modernisation efforts and enhance service delivery across the Kerala Circle.
