In connection with the Assembly Elections 2026, the First Level Checking (FLC) of EVM/VVPAT machines in the pathanamthitta district has begun at the Collectorate Election Warehouse Compound.
The warehouse was opened in the presence of District Collector S. Premkrishnan in the absence of political party representatives. The District Collector informed that the first level checking will be conducted continuously till January 22, including holidays. The inspection is being carried out under the supervision of nine authorized engineers from Bharat Electronic Limited and Electronics Corporation of India. 1509 control units, 1509 ballot units and 1629 VVPATs are being checked in the district. Only EVMs and VVPATs that have passed FLC will be used in the elections.
EVMs and VVPATs are being checked as per the current guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
The FLC process is monitored by the District Election Officer, Chief Electoral Officer and the Election Commission of India.
