The MLA, along with volunteers, visited the residence of Metropolitan Kuriakose Mar Ivanios, President of the Knanaya Church in Ranni. He handed over the Chief Minister’s special letter and related documents to the Metropolitan.
The Metropolitan suggested that there is great potential for tourism development projects centered around places like Gavi and Perumthenaruvi. Initiatives are needed to manufacture rubber products locally in the district. Considering the relevance of Sabarimala, a modern hospital should be established in the eastern region. He also suggested that new courses and colleges should be started in the education sector that provide employment opportunities and jobs in the country.
The MLA said that the Perumthenaruvi tourism project is being implemented in continuation of the suggestions shared by the Metropolitan at the Navakerala Sadas. The government has allocated Rs. 7 crore for this. He also said that suggestions that will further utilize the development potential of Ranni are expected in the Citizen Response Program.
The volunteers also visited Ranni Trikkomala Noor Muhammadiya Muslim Jamaat Imam Muhammad Kutty Maulavi. He opined that the Tourism Department should come up with more projects by making maximum use of the geographical potential of the state. He suggested that this would help in finding capital for basic development and increasing employment opportunities. The government is able to implement welfare schemes efficiently. He also said that there should be more job opportunities for the youth in the state.
