She has previously served in various media units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, including the Press Information Bureau, Central Bureau of Communication, Doordarshan News, and the Publications Division in New Delhi. She has also held important assignments at the PIB and Publications Division offices in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ms. Sanal served as Defence PRO in Thiruvananthapuram for six years, where she played a pivotal role in coordinating crisis communication during major disasters such as Cyclone Ockhi, the Kerala floods of 2018 and 2019, and the Theni forest fire.
Prior to taking charge as Director, PIB and AIR Kochi, she was spokesperson for five Union Ministries—Jal Shakti, Textiles, Commerce & Industry, Shipping, Ports & Waterways, and Road Transport & Highways—at New Delhi, demonstrating her wide-ranging expertise in strategic communication.
