The Ashwamedham 7.0 house visit conducted by the Health Department as part of the leprosy eradication campaign has begun in the district. The district-level inauguration was performed by Grama Panchayat President Paul Rajan at Kulanada Vyapa Bhavan. Pandalam Block Panchayat President Vineetha Anil presided over the inauguration. Signature campaign artist Sunil Vishwam inaugurated the campaign and released the poster.
District Leprosy Officer Dr. Sethulakshmi, Ardram Nodal Officer Dr. Amjith Rajeevan, Assistant Leprosy Officer C P Asha, Medical Officers Dr. Jinu.G. Thomas, Dr. Anjali S Kumar, District Program Officers R. Sajith, M G Vinod Kumar, Deputy District Education and Media Officer M P Biju Kumar, Block Supervisors A. Satheesh Kumar and A Rajulabeevi participated.
The awareness rally, which started from the Kulanada Family Health Center, was flagged off by Pandalam Station House Officer TV Prajeesh. Students of Chitra College of Nursing presented a flash mob. 2182 volunteers will conduct house visits in the district.
Skin lesions with indistinct edges and no sensation of touch,Painless, non-healing sores, loss of eyebrows and eyelashes, weakness in the muscles of the limbs, and difficulty closing the eyes can all be symptoms of leprosy. Those with symptoms should inform volunteers.
