KOTTAYAM: The fifth anniversary and family meet of “Malayali Manassu”, an online newspaper published from the state of Pennsylvania, USA, will be held today (Thursday, January 8, 2026) in Kottayam.

The anniversary celebration, scheduled for the afternoon at the Kurian Memorial Auditorium of Njalikuzhy Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, will be inaugurated by MP Francis George. MP Anto Antony will preside over the function. Chief Editor Raju Shankarathil will deliver the welcome address, while Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan MLA will present the keynote speech. Film and television actor Rasheed Karappuzha will attend as the chief guest.

MLAs Chandy Oommen and Job Michael, former MLA Shobhana George, Panchayat President Ramesh Natarajan, and Dr. Varghese Perayil will offer felicitation speeches.

Literary Conference and Cultural Programs

A literary conference beginning at 10 a.m. will feature the honoring of writers, book releases, presentation of mementos, and distribution of prizes to competition winners. This will be followed by a variety of cultural programs, including finger art displays, dance performances by Kala Jyothi Idukki, and a musical concert by the Seraphim Idukki Music Band.

The public meeting in the afternoon will include felicitation speeches by prominent personalities from various fields, followed by the honoring and award presentation to regular contributors of Malayali Manassu, according to Chief Editor Raju Shankarathil.
