In response to long-standing demands from passengers in the Mavelikkara Lok Sabha constituency, Kodikunnil Suresh, Member of Parliament, has announced that two major trains have been granted new stops at Shastamkotta and Chengannur.

Amrit Bharat Express (16329/30)

New Stop: Shastamkotta

The Amrit Bharat Express (16329/30) operating between Nagercoil and Mangaluru Junction will now halt at Shastamkotta railway station.

With this new stop, passengers from Kollam district and nearby areas will benefit significantly. The service will especially help those traveling toward Mangaluru for education, employment, medical treatment, and other essential needs.

Thiruvananthapuram – Hazrat Nizamuddin Superfast Express (22653/54)

New Stop: Chengannur

The Thiruvananthapuram Central Hazrat Nizamuddin Superfast Express (22653/54) running between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Hazrat Nizamuddin will now stop at Chengannur railway station.

This addition will make long-distance travel to Delhi more convenient for passengers from Chengannur, Mavelikkara, and Adoor regions.

MP’s Statement

The MP stated that he had repeatedly written to the Railway Minister and the Southern Railway General Manager and had also intervened directly to press for these stops. He confirmed that official communication from the Railway Ministry has now been received granting approval.

He expressed gratitude to the Railway Ministry and Southern Railway authorities and assured that efforts to improve travel facilities in the constituency will continue.
