Phone numbers to contact NORKA groups in the Gulf region

787 calls received at the Norka Help Desk :Expatriates say they are safe

In the context of the ongoing conflict in the West Asian region, the phone numbers to contact the six NORKA support groups formed in the Gulf countries to ensure assistance to expatriate Keralites have been set up. The groups consist of the NORKA department, NORKA Roots, Loka Kerala Sabha members in the respective countries, embassy volunteers, representatives of NORKA-approved expatriate organizations, social workers and prominent individuals. An online meeting of Loka Kerala Sabha representatives in the Gulf countries convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was held the other day. The review meeting held at the NORKA Center assessed the current situation in the region, the information received at the help desks, and those who need urgent assistance. The review meeting evaluated the activities of the NORKA Regional Vigilance Coordination Team, which has been specially set up to provide assistance to the countries in the region, the activities of the six NORKA groups working to provide assistance to those in need , the calls and interventions received at the NORKA Help Desk, the Delhi Kerala House Help Desk and the NORKA Center Control Room .

NORKA Help Desk Update

The help desk received 787 calls from February 28, 2026 to 5 pm on March 04. Of these, 510 were from India, 134 from UAE, 59 from Qatar, 52 from Bahrain, 16 from Kuwait, 5 from Oman, 9 from Saudi Arabia and 2 from the UK. The Ministry of Interior of Qatar has announced that it will extend the validity of entry visas by one month. Assistance has been provided to those stranded at various airports in the region and those in need of urgent intervention with the support of governments, NGOs and NORKA aid groups. There are strict instructions in most countries against sharing fake news, rumors and conflict-related matters created by artificial intelligence on social media or otherwise. NRI Keralites should only follow official announcements issued by the governments, Indian missions and relevant authorities in their respective countries.
