The Maha Magha Mahotsavam, known as Kerala’s Kumbh Mela, will begin today on the banks of the Bharathapuzha with special rituals and prayers. The festival will be held from January 19 to February 3. The Kumbh Mela will be inaugurated by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at 11 a.m. today at the premises of the Navamukunda Temple.

In accordance with traditional rituals, deity worship and ancestral rites will be performed at Tirunavaya today. Veera Sadhana rituals will also take place. Tomorrow, Vedic Shraddha rites will be conducted.
